All about Betta Fish temperament

 

Betta fish rare, also known as the Siamese Fighting Fish, is one of the most famous fish in the aquarium world. They are usually around two to three inches long and have a diamond shape on their head with two protruding barbels on either side.

Their mouths open and close rapidly, which makes them look like they're smiling.

They are social:

Live female betta fish for sale are great for active households but can be sensitive to water temperature and lighting. They are very social, so a beta fish tank is best kept with other beta fish. The betas will get along well with most other freshwater fish, goldfish, guppies, and tetras.

However, they do not make good tank mates for Corydoras catfish or different types of cichlids because they can be aggressive toward each other when kept in the same tank.

They are pro-defensive:

The beta fish has been selectively bred to have a calm temperament and is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a quiet, non-aggressive fish.

They prefer to be kept singly or in groups of one or two but should not be kept with other beta fish or other aggressive species of fish because they will attack each other if they come into touch with each other in the tank. They are not aggressive towards other fish but can be territorial if they feel threatened or cornered.

If you have more than one beta fish, it is best to keep them separated when first introduced, as this may help to prevent aggression.

You can train them:

Beta fish are quick learners and can be trained fairly quickly. The most common training method is clicker training which involves using a clicker to reward your beta fish with treats when they perform certain behaviors.
